Thyroid is a gland in front of neck which produces essentials hormones for normal functioning of the different body parts. It can present with neck lump and should always be checked by qualified health professional so that appropriate investigations can be carried out to rule out cancer and to plan management. Surgery is offered to the patients where indicated, which is sometimes followed by radioactive iodine ablation in case of malignancies. Neck lumps should never be ignored and should be checked as soon as possible.
