About Prof Dr. Rizwan Aziz

Prof Dr. Rizwan Aziz is UK fellowship trained General and Cancer Surgeon with special interest in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

He graduated in from King Edward Medical University (former KE Medical College), Lahore and finished his training in surgery at Mayo Hospital Lahore under supervision of very skilled and competent teachers & surgeons. After which he attained Fellowship in Surgery from College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (FCPS) in 2003.

He served in Pakistan for few years, initially at Shaukat Khanam Cancer Hospital & Research Centre and then at Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore. He also served as General Surgeon and Clinical Teacher at King Saud University and affiliated university hospitals Riyadh, after which he moved to England.

He has worked for more than a decade at internationally recognised and very well reputed centres in Yorkshire and Manchester and attained MRCS and FRCS. He has recently returned to Pakistan and currently practices as Professor of Surgery and Consultant Surgeon at Islamabad Medical & Dental College/ Akbar Niazi teaching hospital, Islamabad.

He has vast surgical experience and receives referrals from all over the country for benign and malignant surgical problems. He is trained for advanced laparoscopic (Key-hole) procedures including cancer resection and is JAG (UK) certified for endoscopies.

Apart from his clinical commitments, he has been involved in and supervised different research projects in Pakistan as well as in United Kingdom. He is formally trained clinical teacher and has been involved in teaching of Medical students. He had a role as Clinical & Educational Supervisor for junior doctors in United Kingdom.
